Cliveden is unique. It's one of the world’s finest luxury hotels in the heart of the Berkshire countryside, surrounded by 376 acres of magnificent formal gardens and parkland. It is arguably the finest of luxury hotels near London and Heathrow Airport.

From the moment you are ushered into the beautiful Great Hall with its grand fireplace, oak panelling and priceless artworks, our aim is to ensure you feel like a treasured, personal guest. You’ll be treated to the very highest standards of quality, with excellence in every detail.

Guests have included every British monarch since George I as well as Charlie Chaplin, Winston Churchill, Harold Macmillan, President Roosevelt, George Bernard Shaw, John Profumo and Christine Keeler, and many other well-known names from the past and present.

But visitors to the grand estate can also take what's billed as the most expensive afternoon tea yet with the spread for two, at £550 per couple.

The 'tea' was conceived by executive head chef Carlos Martinez. There are exquisite white truffles at £2,500 per kilo, Beluga Caviar at £4,000 per kilo and Da Hong Pao Tea, harvested from thousand year old leaves and valued at over £2,000 per kilogram. You’ll also be treated to flutes of Dom Perignon Rose, as well as a luscious, gold-leafed cake made with the dearest chocolate in the world, Amedi Porcelana. Wash it all down with an earthy, bitter shot of Kopi Luwak, the famous civet cat coffee, at £50 per cup.
