GADGET: Sony Memory Stick Handycam

When it comes to portable gadgets, small is the way to go and with this in mind, Sony has released their lightest and most compact high definition Handycam ever.

At just 12 centimetres high, 6.3 centimetres wide and 3.2 centimetres deep, the HDR-TG1 Memory Stick Handycam weighs in at just 300 grams. Small doesn’t mean giving up on the features though. Face Detection technology has been incorporated for both video and photos, identifying up to eight faces in the camcorder’s LCD frame. It automatically allocates more pixels to detected faces during the AVCHD encoding process, optimising focus, exposure and colour for natural-looking skin tones. As well as having a 2.3 Mega Pixel ClearVid CMOS Sensor, the HDR-TG1 delivers full HD 1920 x 1080i video recording and captures still images of up to four megapixel resolution.
