Ermenegildo Zegna returned from the Far East to the ski hills of Cortina d’Ampezzo. Day 1 at Milan Fashion Week and Zegna’s ski bound 1970s playboys are what we’ll be looking forward to next season. Aprés ski chalet ambiance by way of lavish hardwood, fireplaces, and Dolomite backdrop created the perfect mood for a Winter Tale.

Fall/Winter 2012 cashmere turtlenecks looked as chic as they did cozy. Suits were impeccable both in style and cut as were the stellar textured shearlings and alpaca outerwear.

Colours are muted yet warm with soft camels and sandy browns complimenting dark oceanic blues. Zegna’s message is clear – leave the Crackberry at home, unplug and chill the hell out. Perhaps the strongest collections of Day 1 – certainly one of the best of Milan.
