Dining for a Difference

On Saturday 18 April, top local and international chefs will converge on Auckland’s SkyCity for the latest "Dining for a Difference" dinner to stir up support for New Zealand’s Leukemia & Blood Foundation.

The award-winning fundraising event is largely driven by Dine’s celebrity chef, Peter Gordon. Having successfully donated bone marrow to his sister, Tracey, over 12 years ago, Peter became inspired to help other patients with Leukemia. Over the past 11 years, he’s raised over $8.4 million for Leukemia patients in the UK and more recently, has introduced the fundraising dinner concept to New Zealand. The first "SKYCITY Dining for a Difference" fundraiser was held in 2007 and it’s come to be seen as one of Auckland’s top fundraising events.

On the night, each chef will reveal a four-course menu with matching wines for two tables of ten guests. To put an interesting spin on the dinner, the chefs will draw table numbers out of a hat to see who they will be serving. This means guests at the event are in for a surprise as they’ll have no idea which chef will be preparing their meal or what they will be served! With the talented assembly of culinary experts in the kitchen, no one will be disappointed and funds raised will go towards developing the patient support programme for Leukemia sufferers.

When: Saturday, 18 April 2009.
Where: The Auckland Rooms, SKYCITY Auckland Convention Centre.
Cost: $350 per person or $3,500 for a table of 10.
Bookings: Email lbf@leukemia.org.nz or phone 0800 151 015.
