Crossfit: The New Black

Crossfit is the new black. My partner discovered this last year and is a crossfit evangelist. As a former Representative in two sports codes she is well aware of the mental and physical conditioning required to get fit and stay fit, from nutrition to exercise to recovery. But years of slugging it away in the gym just wasn't what she craved for anymore. Let's face it monotony can creep in quickly when using a gym so for the 'elites' of this world Crossfit has become the light at the end of the tunnel because it takes you out of that environment and into the real world. But don't be misguided into thinking this form of fitness is just for the superhuman. Students come from all walks of life - executives, triathletes, stay at home parents and martial artists.

It’s the official program for Navy Seals, police and fire services as well as thousands of groups all over the planet. CrossFit becomes your support community for the duration of your fitness regime...and that could be lifelong.

The focus is on improving competence in all fitness domains (Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy.) It is purposeful teaching to achieve optimum effectiveness in fitness and nutrition led by an expert coach who builds and develops a long term relationship with you and your fitness goals.

You are also encouraged to develop a website log which will have your daily, weekly and monthly goals including nutritional information and menus. This is part of the unique dynamic of Crossfit and not unlike social networking sites or blog sites. You are able to see what members have been up to and can encourage them to strive for their personal goals with strategic and succinct comments. With the amount of time my partner spends on her daily log...she's now a b(log) junkie! But the overall results are...impressive.
