2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
General Motors has finally taken the covers off of the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
Power for the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 comes from a LSA 6.2L supercharged V8 making 550-hp at 6,100 rpm and 550 lb-ft at 3,800 rpm. The engine is matched to a Tremec TR-6060 6-speed manual transmission with a new shorter-throw shifter that improves gear changes. It also features a dual-mode exhaust system which provides a very throaty and powerful sound.

The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is built on a stronger driveshaft and rear axel system that has a larger and strong cast iron differential housing, stronger axels and a heavy-duty limited-slip. The system is designed to bring the 550-hp to the ground in a very smooth manner. The suspension for the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 has also been revised and features GM’s popular Magnetic Ride Control, which includes driver selectable modes and holds the Camaro ZL1 tight to the ground while making sharp turns.
The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 will go into production with a range of colours but black will be the only interior colour. The interior of the Camaro ZL1 has heated leather seats with microfiber inserts and ZL1 logos on the front headrests. Microfibre suede is also accented on the instrument panel. The Camaro ZL1 will be offered with the same content as the current 2SS package and some other cool features.
